Make the unit as clear as the description
Small hardware is often quoted in packages. State the quantity you need and ask the supplier to explain the selling unit. A hinge pair and an individual hinge are not the same quantity basis. The same applies to boxes of fasteners with different contents. Keep conversion and rounding visible in the comparison sheet so a lower package price is not mistaken for a lower cost for the required quantity.
Use references and measurements for replacements
Provide the existing product reference and the dimensions confirmed by the workshop or installer. Photographs can support identification but should not replace fit information. Ask the project team to define required material or finish characteristics. Keep proposed alternatives separate until reviewed. For coordinated cabinetry, record matching groups so handles and visible fittings can be assessed together rather than selected independently from different images.
Ask for practical package identification
Request a packing list that connects boxes or bags to your item references. This helps the receiving team reconcile a mixed order containing many similar parts. Agree the discrepancy procedure and keep approved samples or product references available. Include the Ethiopian destination and timing in the UAE enquiry. A clear small-item schedule is particularly useful when hardware travels with larger building materials and could otherwise be difficult to count and allocate.
