The short answer
For sanitary fittings and flooring, a useful enquiry combines the visual choice with measurable specifications. Include product references, dimensions, finish, quantities and installation details. Identify sample approvals and matching accessories. State whether your quantities include the project allowance, and confirm packing and delivery scope before ordering.
What to include in your quotation request
| Requirement | Details to provide |
|---|---|
| Sanitary items | Product reference, dimensions, mounting or installation type, quantity and connection details. |
| Fittings and accessories | Finish reference, compatibility requirements, included components and quantity. |
| Flooring and wallpaper | Material, size, pattern or colour reference, area or piece count and application. |
| Approval notes | Sample requirements, acceptable alternatives, drawing revision and authorised approver. |
Build the schedule around locations
Organise the requirement by room, floor or project zone, then assign a unique reference to each item. This helps distinguish products that look similar but have different dimensions or installation requirements. Keep an itemised master list so that repeated products can be counted consistently. Include the current drawing or schedule revision and mark any details still awaiting project-team confirmation.
Measure before requesting an exact replacement
A photograph can show appearance, but it may not establish whether a replacement fits. For sanitary products, include the overall dimensions, installation type and the relevant connection positions or measurements supplied by your installer. For fittings, identify the existing product or system where possible. Ask the responsible project professional to confirm compatibility before accepting a substitute, particularly when the installation already exists.
Make finish requirements reviewable
“White”, “wood effect” or “brushed finish” can be too broad for a coordinated interior. Provide a manufacturer reference, finish code, sample reference or other agreed specification where available. State whether an exact match is mandatory or whether you can review alternatives. If adjacent products must look consistent, identify them as a matching group and ask how that requirement will be confirmed before purchase.
Keep quantity and coverage separate
For flooring and wallpaper, record the required area as well as the purchasing unit when known. Ask the quotation to identify pack, roll or piece quantities and their stated coverage so your project team can reconcile the total. Clarify whether your quantity includes the project allowance; the installer should determine that allowance for the actual layout. Do not treat a quoted coverage figure as a final installation quantity without that review.
Record the sample and substitution approval
When finish or appearance is critical, agree an appropriate sample approval process before placing the order. Record the product reference and the aspects approved, such as colour, texture or dimensions. If the specification changes after a sample is accepted, ask whether a new approval is needed. Keep the final accepted reference with the order so that the receiving team does not work from an earlier photograph or an outdated schedule.
Check accessories and handling requirements
Ask which matching components are included with each sanitary item and which need separate ordering. Make requested installation materials or accessories visible in the list. Discuss packing for fragile or surface-sensitive products and identify any delivery or unloading constraints. For staged projects, explain the required phases and request confirmation of availability and supply arrangements. Do not assume that installation, unloading or storage is included in the material price.
Bring the destination into the quotation
For an export enquiry, state the destination country and city alongside the material schedule. Confirm delivery responsibilities, documentation and the receiving arrangements before ordering. AAMA Trading LLC supplies a general trading range that includes sanitary items, fittings, flooring, wallpaper, paint and related accessories. Our UAE-based team can review your item list for local or export requirements; the proposed products and commercial scope are confirmed during quotation.
Buyer questions
Can I mix sanitary items, flooring and hardware in one BOM?
Yes. Separate the products by item reference and category, then include the specifications, quantities and units for each line.
Can a photo confirm that a fitting will fit?
A photo helps explain appearance, but measurements and technical references are still needed. Ask your installer or project team to confirm compatibility.
Should I include a flooring wastage allowance?
State the quantity you want quoted and whether it includes your project allowance. Your installer or project team should confirm the amount required for the actual layout.
